warum bei Dir die Alarmglocken läuten, weiß ich nicht, aber ich frage mich: Passen denn die ca. 4 Mio libyschen Söldner in 40 Fahrzeuge?

ich bin etwas beruhigt - den mich so alarmierenden Zusammenhang mit den
Kel Iforas und Libyen entgeht euch to-tal, hab wohl langsam Paranoia
und seh überall schon Gespenster bzw AQIM-Handlanger

Hallo Ursula,

Paranoia ist relativ. Seit ich weiß (seit 4 Wochen), dass der lib. Staat insgesamt ca. 4 Mio Söldner (und zweitstaatsangehörige Libyens) in ganz Afrika hat, wird es mir da auch nicht gerade "warm" ums Herz. Die Kel Iforas sind da nur eine "Fußnote" in der Geschichte wert.

aber ausgerechnet diese "Fussnote" gewährt der AQIM seit Jahren Unterschlupf in ihrem Gebiet.

Wenn wir AQIM durch "schutzige Geschäftsleute" ersetzen, kommen wir eher hin - das wundert mich nun keineswegs. Die "special relations" zum "Friedenstifter" Gaddhafi in den diversen innerstaatlichen Konflikten in den Sahel-Staten auch nicht; wenn das für ein paar Stämme langfristig fatal ist - sorry, ist deren Problem

Niger / Terrorism: 20 terrorists killed near Agadez

Quoting security sources, the Algerian daily El Khabar reported on Wednesday that at least 20 AQIM (Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb) terrorists were killed recently in clashes with smugglers in the city of Agadez, in the north of Niger. The violence erupted as the criminals demanded terrorists to pay fees for passing through their territories.

It should be mentioned that clashes between the terrorists and criminal gangs in this area became regular since last January. According to the source, criminals might have bee, paid by western intelligence services to hunt AQIM terrorists in northern Niger.

Separately the source revealed that two Algerian and three Mauritanian "repentant terrorists" surrendered to Algerian army in the south from Tamanrasset after having fled from AQIM training camps in northern Mali.

na ja..gleiches recht für alle? oder bodenschätze dem staat dem sie gehören?

Vorschlag zur Güte: zuerst denken, dann schreiben?

Zu welchen Preisen der Staat Niger die Schürfrechte verkauft, ist sein Bier - die Areva hatte sich ob der mäßigen Erträge schon fast zurückgezogen, jetzt sind sie wieder stark präsent, wenn die Chinesen besser zahlen, werden sie (auch) zum Zug kommen.

Dass ein algerischer Spin-off sich aus dem Entführungsgeschäft finanziert, zählt nicht zu den anerkannten legalen Wirtscahftszweigen und wird zu ahnden sein. Punkt, aus. (Das Kidnapping bei Arlit war übrigens neu, im Normalfall sind irgendwelche Touristen die einfacheren Ziele)

Die Franzosen haben ohnedies schon mit Gegenmaßnahmen begonnen - schlecht für die beiden in Niamey gekidnappten Opfer, zum Klarstellen, wie gefährlich dieser Geschäftszweig ist, hat die Aktion durchaus beigetragen.
